Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park

We got to know that Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park must not be missed from Lake St Clair visitor centre. But we have limited time to visit it as we only have few days left to complete Cradle Mountain and back to Devonport.

The weather for the coming days is not looking good at all. Foggy and rain. Leaving the lake, a short drive we came to the Franklin NP area. The first stop is Surprise Valley. Boy, it is the right name for this place. When we reach this lookout, it was completely covered with fog. After 10mins of taking ‘white’ pictures, the fog cleared a bit and we could see the outline of this valley. So mysterious and beautiful!

Next we stopped at the Franklin River Nature Trail walk, just a short walk to the Franklin river.

From there, we continue to drive past Burbury Lake. We know we had to stop here! Look at this:

Having coffee by the roadside, taking in the beautiful foggy morning and the peaceful lake. It’s the kind of scenery you would only see in television!
