Look for jobs in Arrowtown

After dropping resumes to every possible retails and hotels and casinos in Queenstown, we travel half an hour to Arrowtown in search for job as well. A historic gold mining town, with two rows of shops and a historic Chinese settlement area.

It was quite a nice town to spend half a day here, and wonder off at these historical information the town has to offer. The shops here still retain its decor during the old times which interest us a lot.

And when it comes to food, Arrowtown has the best gourmet pie! Price is rather above average and so it the taste! YUMS!

This is the Chinese gold diggers settlement area. The entrance is free of charge, with good description of the history and purpose of these stone huts as well as the living conditions back in the 1800s. The Chinese had very poor living quarters compared to the Europeans (where they lived in those beautiful shops shown above).

This is the Chinese 'toilet'

Many chinese gold diggers would stay together sharing the huts, and from the money they earned, buy opium, gamble and send $$ back to China. But many were not able to return to their homeland and be parted with their families forever.
