Abel Tasman NP Great Walk

Beautiful sunrise @ Abel Tasman National Park*****
Here lies the famous Abel Tasman Coast Track, one of NZ's Great Walk which starts from Maharau to Wainui Bay, 55.2 KM long track. We have opted out to walk the whole track due to time constraint, as it's 4-5 days hike. So we took a full day walk from Maharau up to Anchorage, 8 hrs return, 12.4kms one way.

Wood pigeons

It is a sunny day, perfect for beach side!

Beautiful greenstone colours of the sea..

Akerston Bay.. break time

You look so sleepy lil ducky...

We had lunch at Anchorage. And during low tide, can access these weird rock formations. Really, that looked like an elephant beside you Pete..

Beautiful views of Golden Bay

Stillwater Bay

The track is easy to walk, mostly shaded and runs along the coastline but this full day walk is certainly tiring,  we also en-route to some beaches which is more exhaustive. This is our longest day walk ever, total of 26km!

Our high carb dinner, risotto..

After the walk, we headed back into The Barn campground for a good shower after a long walk. Then we continue driving to Takaka till sunset and free camped at Uruwhenua.
