Great Ocean Road III

Otway fly treetop** walk $24 per pax, but we got 20% discount using the YHA card. There are also discount on the ticket if you buy from visitor information centres. The treetop walk is said to be the highest of its kind in the world, but to us it’s nothing that special. It’s about 1 and half hour walk. Not worth the money as we see it probably cause we always go national parks. There’s a good spot at Kenneth River, just further east from Lorne which has beautiful forest and koalas as well.

To add some excitement to the kids,
here’s the dinosaurs~!

The Otway fly treetop walk also has another attraction to offer, the Zipline. Like what we would know as ‘flying fox’ in Malaysia. Costs about $115 per pax.

Keep a lookout for wild Koalas on Lighthouse Road when travelling towards Cape Otway Lighthouse. They are all cuddling the Eucalyptus trees! Most of them are in their dream world. So cute. . .

Blanket Bay campground. It’s a free campground, about 8 kms from Cape Otway lighthouse. But it has 6kms of dirt road, which takes a longer time to get in. The camp spots were all full when we get there, eventually we have to camp at the hikers’ (who do the Great Ocean Walk of 104 kms from Apollo Bay to 12 Apostles!) campsite which it says must be online registered to get the permit. But everyone just get in without permit anyway =P It is such a popular campground, so you have to be early to get yourself a spot.

Our dinner for the day: Vegetable Mihun Soup =)
