Everyone woke up early, in time for the
cow milking! Before that, a walk around the farm to greet the animals =)
A cold morning...
That's why this chicken has so much feather!
Fighting over the girls?
Another lambie was born just a week ago! Little Peter's reincarnation?
Can feel the sore hands after two weeks of break from milking....
Good job! Enough milk for all of US!
A hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs!
The best bacon ever, smoked by P&A.
Really. We made the brine then put those leg hams and back ribs on
the fireplace to smoke it. Only a terrible thing happen that very
night, Toni told us to add gather firewood and put them beside the
fireplace so that we can add them later at night since she want to
slow smoke the meat. But silly us, we gathered the firewood and add
all the wood. The meat was on a rack high above the fire (in the
fireplace), and after we add the wood, the fire seems alright. We did
not realise the fatty oil from the meat made the fire bigger and
BIGGER. Eventually burning the meat! Oh no! From the house, the
smoking chimney seems to be on fire! We got water fast and manage to
save the fire. Only all the meat got super CHARRED! Oopsie..
To compensate our mistake, we had to
scrub and cut all the black char from the meat. Gosh, that was hard
work. But the bacon turn out to be the best of all, according to Bill
and Toni! So a hot fire, could make the extra smoky bacon flavor! Not
a bad mistake :p
Ricky, Christie, Toni, Angie, Lisa, Mun Geon
So after breakfast, we had to bid
farewell to Toni and we got on our way. We split on a junction where
Christie, Lisa, Ricky and MunGeon go on back to Gold Coast. Oh, 12
days passes so quickly and we had to say goodbye to our dearest
family. It had been really an awesome trip, and we felt the missing
pieces once they left! Just like when Verna, Uncle, Christie and
Ricky left us in Perth after our trip together.
Smiley Faces =)
Now it's back to ourselves again,
taking care of each other. Hope they have a safe drive back (10hours
drive in a day, man!) and manage to get the lost key at Mount
Tamborine.
Besides a hole in their pockets (for
the expensive OZ trip), we hoped they have enjoyed every bit of it.
The fun, long drive, stuffy caravaning, cold cold nights, red wine,
bak kut teh, steamboat, farm experience, casino jokers, the not so
great lady musgrave tour, etc etc.
Now it's time for us to move on again,
travelling up north queensland, then the red center, then darwin, and
back to perth through coastal drive. All in less than 2 months!
11,000kms to GoGoGo!
