Gold Coast Family Trip IV Wandering Around . . .

Carrara Market****

This us our last day in GC. Peter and Mun Geon got the motorhome from Driveabout Campers at Miami early morning and everyone was busy packing out of the apartment. The motorhome has what it advertised. So the four of them got their new 'home' for the next 12 days in the campervan while P&A stay in the tent as usual.

After checking out, we went to Carrara Market which has quite a diverse range of stalls from home decor, souvenirs, clothing, pet grooming and few fresh food stalls. Open every weekend from 7am- 4pm. It is a good place to buy the Aussie souvenirs.

Many nice home decors sold at the market

After a couple hours wondering at the market, we head off to Surfers Paradise for lunch at Hungry Jacks, the good old whopper burger! The guys finally got the chance to see the Surfers Paradise Meter Maids! Here you go:

It is a culture in GC created back 1964 that these sexy girls help beat the bad image created by the installation of parking meters. They will stroll the streets of Surfers Paradise and feed expired parking meters ;) An easy job or not really easy? Look at that tan they got!

Jumping time =)

Burleigh Heads is a world known surfer's beach. Relaxing by the beach with fresh strawberries and cherries bought from Carrara Market while the guys snap thousand of photos of the sunset.

Then it is an hour and half drive to Byron Bay, the most easterly point in OZ! We checked in at Clarkes Beach Caravan Park, ($127 for six people on powered site) a very costly caravan park with free wifi and it's nearest to the Cape Byron lighthouse.
