Geraldton, Cervantes

Double Rainbow..... ^ ^ in Geraldton
This city was known The Windy City, we hardly stay outdoor for long time, it really windy and makes everything cold~~ I remembered this picture, it was taken in front of the beach, that time is great wind and light rain, we run straight into our Koala after this picture and our camera was wet!

We have almost done all our last bit of trip highlights of Western Australia... So we just had a relaxing drive from Shark Bay back to Perth. On the way, we stayed a night at Geraldton hoping to eat some WA LOBSTER! But it turned out to be quite expensive, so we thought we might save the lobster for Cervantes where we had a big lobster feast last year... =P

We visited St Francis Xavier Cathedral at Geraldton, quite a different touch in this church.. =)

A group of school kids practicing their choir in the church.. Innocent and cute kids.. =)

Driving south to Perth, the country side is so so beautiful. Cause it's spring again, beautiful wildflowers by the highway and hills and hills of green fields. Just like the country side in south west, Margaret River. The temperature dropped a lot compared to north west and the wind is so chilly! And it rained for the first time yesterday night since our travels from queensland to northern territory then western aus for 42 days.

We just stopped where ever there are lookouts or when there are beautiful fields of flowers like this! The land in western aus is definitely more confortable to drive on, with the green fields and pretty flowers, instead of the very hot desert climate in northern and bare landscape in queensland.

We stopped a night in Cervantes eventhough we could have driven directly from Geraldton to Perth. But it was a memory "re-freshener" stop in Cervantes, because we came here almost one year ago with Angie's family. And now after doing a whole round of OZ, we are back again at the same caravan park and to eat the same Lobster Platter! Yummos!!

2 half dead Lobster @ Cervantes Lobster Shack
Apparently there is a Lobster Shack in Cervantes where visitors can take a tour to see how the lobster being processed and packaged and there is also a restaurant selling lobster platter and seafood. The price is quite expensive, $35 for half lobster & chips (but they indicate the lobster as jumbo size). However comparing that set with this, we thought this was much more worth the $$ :))

So we checked in at Pinnacles Caravan Park on a powered site ($29), we would need a power site from now on since we're heading south. The weather is so cold! All our travels from northern territory to north west coast, we did not use power site at all since it's so hot in the day and nice cool temp at night (eventhough it's winter!). We had a walk around the caravan park and found this cabin, the one we use to stay last year!

Yeap, we got this Lobster platter at the Cervantes Country Club for $65 (last year was $55 only). Whole lobster cooked with garlic butter, 2 oysters, 2 salt pepper squid, 2 snapper fillet, 8 prawns and chips served with smorgasboard salad. Aahhh, the lobster is so fresh and yummy! We eat till we can't move anymore. So had a round of pool and dart at the bar next door :)
