Barramundi feeding at Mataranka Territory Manor Motel
From Alice Springs we continue our journey to Darwin. We stopped at Mataranka, which
is famous for its thermal srpings! The barramundi fish feeding at Territory Manor didn't put up quite a show this time because the water temperature in the pool is too cold. The fish eat less and there were cormorants preying on the fish few days ago. If not it would be quite nice to see the big barramundi fish feeding off this bloke's hand!
We stayed at the Mataranka Cabins Caravan Park which is just a walking distance to the Bitter Springs. It is
a nice clear stream with a constant temperature of 32 degree celcius.
We had our goggles and rent a 'noodle' (floats) from the caravan
park. You can do a bit of snorkelling here and some people saw
turtles, oh and snakes :p the stream had quite. Strong current, so we
just float about 100m to the end then back up the start and start
over again, NICE!
Bitter Springs... ***** The water is so clear...
When we float to the end of the stream, we have to get up and walk back to the start again. So freezing cold up there and then jump back in the warm water again! NICE~~~
Trying to fish Barramundi for dinner!
Empty handed.....
Next morning, we had a dip in the springs again! So misty and serene...
The giant termite mound, which is visible along the highway where ever you go in the northern territory and north west OZ.
