Open Water Course@Great Barrier Reef last day

Last group photo before we leave the Kangaroo Explorer!
And it is very cool to have picture together with 2 main characters of the movie Harry Potter (Yannick, third from left and Ron Weasley (Luk, fourth from left). We never told them that they looked like the movie stars before, so hopefully they didn't see this post =P

Filling up the last minute dive log.. Jotting the names of the marine animals we've seen..

Pattern liao liao...

The VEGEMITE punishment time! A tradition at CDC. Students who forgot to tie the bungee cord on their air tanks or went below their allowed depth will be given a STAR. Once collected 3 STARs, like Balz (center) in this picture, he gets the VEGEMITE treatment. Eating a whole spoon of the scary 'not many people like it' Vegemite (which is similar to Marmite in Malaysia). Some countries like Canada and Switzerland don't have this product, so it's Balz first trial and he don't seem to like it =P

In this 3 days at sea, we've been to the Briggs and Moore reef. The more beautiful site of these two would be Briggs reef. It is at Briggs reef that we saw the sleeping turtles, reef sharks, red bass and pufferfish.. The Miln Reef is one of the top dive sites in GBR where CDC has license to dive there. But this round we didn't go there. Probably it is too far out.

According to Ethan, those documentaries and postcard perfect pictures showing the beauty of GBR are mostly filmed at Ribbon Reef and Osprey Reef, which are located in far north Queensland at the Coral Sea.

Here comes the Reef Kist boat to take us away from this paradise.... =(

Not forgetting that today is Peter's birthday. A big birthday present of $700 diving license and a Char grilled chicken treat with Balz and Jenny at King Rooster! Lovely couple Balz and Jenny (from Switzerland) will be migrating to Auckland and hopefully we can meet again in NZ.

Special celebration in the tent =P Happy 28th Birthday Peter Zai @  Cairns, Australia
